Rainbow Triangles

For the 3rd week of February, the Scrappy Triangle Units (light blue and purple) were made for later assembly of pinwheels.  They will be used to alternate/compliment the star blocks from last week.   At the end of the year, I will mix up the colors and assemble pinwheels.  This particular project will continue to be a work in progress on the design wall.

Rainbow Stars

For the 2nd week of February, the Scrappy Star Blocks (Light blue and purple) were born from the left-overs of the 4P/9P Blocks.  They finish at 12" and will be alternating with next week's 12" Pinwheel blocks (all set on point) -- well .... this is the plan for now.

Samantha Claire Finish

This quilt is mine!  With the first two "Samantha Claire's" traveling with Black Cat Creations, I really wanted to make one of my own.  I love to make little units as a "Leader/Enders" all year, so it came together quickly.  Perfect size to drape over my new bedroom lazy-boy chair.

Pattern:  "Samantha Claire"
Size:  65" Square
Designed for Black Cat Creations

The real excitement -- I was able to use this fabric that I purchased about 20 years ago.  I only had 4 yards, so I kept it around until the perfect project came along -- one that would be mine to keep.  Looking closer, it was designed by THE Jean Wells! (c1995).  I am a big fan of both Jean and her daughter Valori Wells, so this was a nice surprise.

Rainbow Blocks and Log Cabin Finish

A little late start with blue blocks, so they have been combined with my first set of purple blocks.  This is a combination of 4-patches made into a 9-Patch.

From a previous RC challenge,  I was able to complete the Rainbow Log Cabin  and donate to a local women's shelter.  From a distance, the quilt almost has a pixel pattern.

Red/White Finish

One of my favorite "Go To" Patterns for a Baby Quilt -- Licorice Whip is a geometric pattern that is great with 2 color quilts or scrappy.  I have made this in Gray/White/Yellow, Multi Color Batiks , large Queen Size in Red/Beige and the two shown on the pattern cover below.

Quilted Feathers and swirls -- perfect for a little girl.
